Is this enough ventilation for P. Ornata?

Hi,

I wondered if this ventilation in the lid is enough or whether I need to do some cross-ventilation?

Basically I am trying to avoid the soldering iron method as the plastic fumes are horrendous even just for a few holes and even when I do it outside; I am scared it will affect my health to keep doing that. So I have drilled these holes but they end up really rough on the side I drill through to, which would be a hazard to the T. Therefore the ones I have drilled in the side I am going to cover up the sharpness with a glue gun. I taped the lid on backwards to keep it in place while I drill so that the rough side will be on the outside.

The T is a sub-adult Poecillotheria Ornata probable male by the markings but not yet mature. He doesn't seem to like his current enclosure as he keeps trying to escape/lift the lid, so I know this one is very big but i think he will be happier with the climbing space and I'll fill it with cork bark.

Trying to drill from the inside of the box on the sides to get the rough side on the outside doesn't feel safe with the angle of it, so if I do need to do cross-vents I will solder iron some but wondered if it's necessary?

Thanks!

Its a Poecillotheria so I think it's alright.
Do you have a container that size but higher? So you can add more height but use the same lid :)

Thanks! This was the highest one I could find, it is 41cm high (his old enclosure is 30cm). I know there may be redundant space width-ways but at least the height is an improvement! :)

Not the most ideal enclosure to use.

For what reason? I am struggling to find arboreal enclosures higher than 30cm but without the mesh - suggestions welcome! Am in the UK. I replaced the mesh on a tall glass exo terra with acrylic (holes drilled in) for my P. cambridgei but am now struggling with mould I think due to the lack of ventilation in the glass sides. I figured at least with these plastic ones it's possible to add more ventilation.

Do you know if Tarantulacribs delivers to England? They have replacement lids for the 8 x 8 x 12" Exo Terra's with maximum ventilation.

If you are forced to use the one in your pic, make sure it has more ventilation holes on the sides.

I assume you mean this one from tarantula cribs? To be fair though that seems to have even less ventilation than my lid, with the tiny holes and them not going all the way across?
