My G. pulchra just sealed its burrow entrance. Should I be expecting an impending molt & move the viv to a quieter room?

It definitely could be molting time. Unless the room is extremely noisy, it should be fine. Tarantulas don't actually hear as far as I know; they feel the vibrations caused by noise.

I kinda' wondered about that. Figures...the Chaco has buried itself too...and I only have two.
Ahh well. Reptile show is Saturday & we'll be vending there, as will two of our tarantula-breeder friends. I have a new addition on the horizon...& an enclosure set up & ready now.

How long will it remain in it's burrow? Day 3 & it's still walled up w/ no other changes. The Chaco too hasn't reappeared.

I've never had a T seal itself off so I can't say for certain, but I wouldn't be surprised if it spends a good portion of its premolt period in seclusion.

I have had it happen all the time. Even my Trinidad Chevron did it but mostly the terrestrials do if they have a burrow. I have had some go two days and others weeks. I would not disturb them at least for a week and see how it goes.

I've had slings go underground sealed off for over a month. Even once it molts it needs another week or so till its hardened. Then it will open up its entrance in search of food/water.
