How big is the T? My first impression is Cyriopagopous von Wirthi. But hard to tell. Definitely looks to be an Asian fossorial. Be aware these T's are seriously defensive and will bite and bite again. Cyriopagopous are no joke! They are also faster than ⚡ lightning!

A Thai birdeater should be a Cyriopagopus minax, which is also known as the Thai Black & that does not look dark enough for that. However, it does have the chevron pattern, so looking at that & it's colour, if it's a mislabelled Cyriopagopus genus species, then my guess would be, Cyriopagopus schmidti.

As Tarantula Trooper said, beware, Cyriopagopus are extremely feisty. I have one who is anything but defensive. She goes from calm, to attack with no warning, no threat posture. And as TT says, they are fast & very happy to bite. Mine can climb a long pair of tongs & bite, before I can drop the tongs. I have not been bitten by my girl, but she has come very close when being rehoused, or when I am removing uneaten crickets etc.

I've currently have a C. Schmidti and had 2 more wild caught specimens that were adults and that spider looks far too dark for a Schmidti but that photo isn't the best. Juvie Minax ( got one) could be correct or von Wirthi which I had a male that's passed. But is this fun playing guess the T..lol! Wish I had remembered the Minax as it does look like my Juvie!

Last week I bought a mystery sling at an Expo. I'm 95% sure it is a G. roses based on the name and the price.

I always tell folks I don't use scientific names to be pedantic. It is to avoid confusion. I have 5 different spiders I could call some variation of Mexican flame leg/knee. There are a few different spiders you can get away with calling Brazilian black and whites as well.

This shows exactly why scientific names are important.

Cyriopagopus for sure. It's difficult to tell because all or most of them turn that dull brown color prior to molting. Once it molts, it will be easier to identify. This is a very defensive species. Definitely not a beginner spider.

Tiger stripes far too defined for a Schmidti. Smitties have some bar type patterns as well. Juvie Minax or Von Wirthi if I was a betting man but again the pic not da best! You don't know your spiders there do ya sweetie????? Hello Casey.
