We don't have H gigas, but we do have a P irminia & it is fairly chilled. I don't ever remember it even ever going into a threat posture.

The thing to remember is that a threat posture is simply a T being defensive & saying I am unhappy. It is not a T being aggressive. I have a T that is aggressive & although it does get defensive at times. It is as likely to go from calm & relaxed to the top of tweezers or a paint brush in an attack, than it is. to get defensive & warn me that it is unhappy.

We have p Gigas and about 6 p irimina and they are all fine. The Gigas is more skittish, the irimina are very good feeders. I’d get one honestly. A lot of species come with horror stories but they’re generally undeserved

Both of mine have been fairly chill as long as you leave them in peace (definitely not the kind of T you would like to handle). The only time I really saw one mad as hell was one of my P. Irminia when I retrieved an egg sac, she was really pissed (not blaming her in any way).

I have both, and my experience with them is on par with each other, and other non-avid arboreals - they would rather flee than fight
