How long can slings go without water?

I know that some adults can go a very long time. I can't find anything that says how long slings can go without water.

I usually check water every three days to a week when i feed my slings (depending on who needs fed and who's in pre molt) and ive never had an issue.

It's got hotter than usual in my house for about a week. I found that my versicolor water bowl was completely dried up which was very concerning because she/he has dry sub. She's ok but it was really concerning. Also another of my slings had a dry water dish and dry sub. The third that made me worried does not have a water dish and it's sub was also dry. They all seem fine. I didn't think that increase in temp would cause everything to dry out so quick.

I'm going to check the water for all of them every day now until it cools down and always keep dirt and moss out of the dishes, but i was wondering, how long can a sling go without water?

Slings are prone to dying from dehydration....they can die rather quickly. Their exoskeleton isn't as strong as a juvenile or adult...this I believe causes issues. I water mine weekly.

A little trick on really hot days is to place moss in their dish. The moss hold moisture longer and they can get a drink from it.

Another reason why I dampen the substrate. Sometimes the substrate can hold moisture longer than the reservoir. The reservoir usually evaporates quicker. At least with the substrate being damp, they have a chance to get moisture from somewhere and they can drink from it. Also, as arachnoclown stated, you can put moss in the water dish. When watering, always overflow your water dish. I agree with arachnoclown....slings cannot survive as long as adults can without water. Checking their reservoir every few days is a good start to make sure they stay well hydrated.
