Im not a new keeper. Ive kept various things for many years. Just seems that lately ive been getting into my spiders more. Ive always kept a few. Ive had grammastola rosea, pterionchilus murinus, bracheypela smithi or harmouri ??? just to name some. I also keep mantis. After years of wasting food for these creatures i realised that it actually makes sense to have more spiders to solve this problem... I could of course keep the food alive but i think more spiders is a much better option.... i presently have 10 tarantulas. I have a psycho rosie (grammastola rosea) that i need to talk about at some point cause shes a mean *****. I have a brachypelma smithi or at least that is what i bought it as but it may be hamouri i dunno. I have a monocentropus balfouri that seems to just hide. I need to speak about this also. I have a lasiodora parahybana about 2 inch sling. A carabena versicolour and half inch sling. A pterinochilous murinus 2 inch sling (one of my faves) 2 half cm kochiano brunnipes. A hapolopus formensus groot half inch. And a psalmopoeus irminia. Eventually id like to maybe try breeding some of these spiders. But thats me and some of my spiders. My birth names mike but i changed my name by deedpole for a laugh so now officially my names queenie. I hope to learn from some of you good people. Hope your all good in this nasty world x

I call it my white knuckle hobby.... Had to rehouse my juvi Orange bitey thing the other day and the bugger bolted and hid under the rim of the ottoman i keep my spiders on. So i had to take everything off and lift the heavy wooden lid to catch it and hope it didnt bolt again. It was very close to crawling on my hand but managed to get it in a catch cup. Fortunately my obt seems pretty chilled atm but its still only a few inches. Its still got to grow up. Suffice as to say it was a total buzz for a few moments and i actually broke a sweat.... who needs drugs

BTW absolutely adore OBTs. On my third now. Still seeking the elusive female!
They really are great arnt they. Possps a runner for my fav but ive also got a venezulan sun tiger sling that ive only had for a few weeks and im pretty fond of this type thus far. Its such a brute at feeding time and i love the way it clears its old meals out of its web where i can them pick it up and get rid of it. Its still only about 3cm so hasnt even got the colour that attracted me to buying it yet....The obt is my second. The first one i owned i bought from and adult but its dead now. The sling i bought was a small fat brown thing when i bought it in july and its grown well fast. Its now a mini version of the adult. Possps a male at the speed its growing?

Love Psalmopeous Irminia as well. My first sling is now an adult male! I bought six months ago a 6.5" female Irminia and she is absolutely stunning! Psalmopeous always fun at feeding time as well. Had or have 6 different species of Psalmopeous and all gorgeous and heavy hitters!
