How a tarantula builds a trapdoor lid on its burrow.

"Published on Dec 7, 2014
This video shows the incredible task of building a trapdoor lid on a tarantulas burrow. The whole process took 13 hours to complete. One of the most significant moments to enjoy is when the tarantula uses its fangs as a pick tool to dig out some soil.

The editing was extremely challenging, most "still" scenes had to be trimmed out of the video to allow it to be shortened to 8 minutes.

Enjoy.

The species in the video is Pterinochilus lugardi - https://www.tarantupedia.com/harpacti..."

That's fascinating to watch, they work so hard to make their homes just right.
