Someone give me some solid information on these guys, Kens has them exceptionally cheap and was thinking of it as an add on but cannot actually find any solid info, is this indeed
Haplopelma minax? Don't want to get something I'm unsure of care for.

Everything I can find says it's the H. minax. Higher humidity, very aggressive, and they're a dirt hole

Ken lists it as Haplopelma sp. because it is not formally identified. Haplopelma in general have similar care.

I'm sure, down the road, you'll change your mind. Sooner or later keepers will acquire an OB species, with some "one is enough", others opt for more and become hooked. ;)
Being able to see them occasionally is part of the mystique. :)

It's not the attitude, I don't handle (well, not on purpose, occasionally my avic scoots onto me and sits there smugly)
But part of my enjoyment of my T's is simply watching them be T's, I am perfectly content to let them just be spiders,
albeit slightly pampered spiders. I'm always careful, even with my avics, I treat them all as if they were deadly, with respect not fear, I don't mind them having a pissy attitude or hiding some of the time, but the pet hole types just have no appeal to me..:( shame too Ken has them dirt cheap.

dirt cheap seems fitting for something that is like having pet dirt. lol

"Never see" is not exactly accurate. They spend a lot of time in hunt mode with their legs outside the burrow. From time to time, they will emerge. "Pet holes" should be reserved for Trapdoor Spiders which I have never seen leave their burrows unless they are males looking for love. There are some really cool enclosures that I have seen built that force the burrow next to the glass so they are visible almost all of the time.

Yeah, I direct my smaller guys that way so I can see them, I am honestly thinking about it.
