Hi!
A petshop near me just posted a pic of a smithi they have for sale.
It’s carapace seemed very similar to my hamorii, so after attempting to compare pics online I told him (In a private dm, I know the owner) that I thought his smithi was an hamorii as it was more similar to mine.
Now I’ve looked closer at my two, and I’m wondering if one of mine is actually a smithy.
Can someone with more knowledge and a keener eye confirm who is what!?

My hamorii (3 - who I now think may be a smithi?)

The easiest way to tell is by tge spermatheca when they are young. The pet shop smithi #1 is hard to tell in the photo. If you can get a clear photo of the Chelicerae that would help. Your hamorii #2 is a hamorii. The one in question #3 looks still pretty young which makes it harder to identify.

I’ll see if I can get him to take a closer photo of no.1.

I’m still waiting on a molt for no.3, I suspect he’s a male, and he was going to be a potential boyfriend for no.2.
So I’d definitely like to identify him as I don’t want to unknowingly cross breed.

Sorry for the bump :D but I'd like to get back to the owner whether I want to buy his girl or not :D

Is the shop T a smithi? If it is I'll get it, as what ever my suspected male turns out to be, I'll have a girlfriend for him :)

I have a B also and I gave up trying to figure which one it is. As I won’t be breeding it really doesn’t matter. Whoever decided to split them up must be laughing his ass off. Just like the guys who do traffic patterns.

They were never split up. Hamorri was always hamorri. Annithia and smithi were the same species described by two different scientists. Many years later they realized they were the same species and now it's just described as smithi. As adults they are Cleary two different spiders.

I’d like to attempt to breed, so would like to be careful.
Also, I’d rather my friend wasn’t unknowingly selling a miss-labelled T from his shop. He’s testing the waters and seeing if adding Ts to his stock would be worth it.
He was sold it as a smithi, and I’d hate for him to get a bad rep as a seller.

Would you believe, #3 useful molted this morning :)
I suspected a male, turns out little Autumn is a girl.
Her carapace is a lot more defined now. I’m guessing shes a Hamorii??
