I may have chance of a couple of these but I can't make my mind up. Does anyone have any comments for or against?
What is the hesitation?
My H. lividums are only aggressive when being bothered with (transplanting enclosures, unpacking, etc.). If you are trying to avoid the aggressive species, I would stay clear of most of the old world T's. Their only defense mode is to bite. To buy or not to buy, I think it depends really on what your keeping intentions are. I don't handle my T's so don't get overly concerned with a T's aggressiveness as a general rule. Just need to take extra precautions on situations that require it. I don't have direct experience with the Cambodian Midnight Blue species but would bet it is going to be defensive. Hopefully, someone out there has some real world experience to share. I hope you get them. They are gorgeous.
Assuming they are like my 4 species of Haplopelmas, I would not count on them being very visible if you set up the enclosure properly. Every evening, I get to see their front legs hang outside their burrow holes and when I am lucky, I get to see the whole front half. But when they do come out, I think they are worth it. I actually see my OBT more frequently (time to change the enclosure probably).
