Hello!

Let me start of by introducing my self. My name is Prince and I am 23 years old. I am from Canada and I have just turned my fears into fascination.
After watching hours of videos on youtube (documentaries and personal videos) I have decided to purchase my first tarantula.

T # 1 - L. Parahybana

Very nice, welcome to the forum and the hobby. L. parahybana are excellent; very hardy, fast growing, excellent eaters, and like to bulldoze around substrate but still hang out in the open often once they get some size to them

Good choice.

I have 2. One which is almost always hanging out on the surface but the other makes a terrible mess, kicking substrate everywhere and then burrowing underneath.

Yeah, the guy said this is not a beginner T, but it is tolerable. Plus i did ask for one that grows fast and massive looking that eats alot. He said that this was the perfect one.

Maybe, maybe not. Every T had its own personality. It doesn't take much to spook a seemingly calm T and have it bolt or jump and fall, then end up injuring itself or dying. More and more people (myself included in this) do not handle their T's. Mostly due to risk of injury to the T. I've handled a few of mine momentarily during rehousing's, but I never just take them out for the sake of handling. Most often times I "handle" a T are when it runs up my arm during rehousing or unpacking. Not saying you can't do it just understand the risks and use caution if you do.
