Hi guys/girls.
Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed my GBB's Andorman looking shiny . It also has a sliver shade to it.
I fed him/her yesterday but hasn't eaten it. My GBB has relocated his webbing next to his old hide out is this normal?
When we bought the GBB they told us him/her had moulted 2 weeks before hand and we have had her/him now for nearly a month.?

Thanks for stopping by
Simon

What size is it? They will often lay down a "molting mat" of webbing shortly before they actually molt. I actually caught mine laying down some webbing Monday morning, and I came home to a freshly-molted T.

I've also found that my GBBs get a bit more lethargic and "secretive" during premolt. Of the species I keep, they are one of the easiest for me to recognize premolt. As slings, mine molted quite regularly (every 6 to 8 weeks or so).

They are usually vicious hunters, so if he/she hasn't eaten the cricket yet, you should take it out so that it doesn't harass or injure the T while it is molting. If it eats it, however, it is probably not in premolt yet.

Hi tomoran. My GBB body length is roughly 1.5 inch. I have not seen her/him lay down a moulting mat yet. I did feed him/her a few nights ago but was still in the enclosure when I got up the next day so I removed the locust . He/she has been active but the last few days has slowed down and her/hims abdomen has swollen.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well, if its abdomen is plump, it's not eating, and it's activity level has slowed down a bit, it sounds like you can expect a molt in the near future! At 1.5", you should be able to expect another wonderful color change.

Hi tomoran.
Here is another picture. The first segment of leg coming off the carapace is the bluey green colour. Will the colour move up a segment in the next moult?

It should start to spread further up the leg and the carapace might start picking up some of that metallic green. This has been one of my favorite species to watch mature, as just about every molt brings an interesting change.

Here's one of mine at about 2.25 inches or so. You'll have this to look forward to soon!
