Our little orange monster moulted tonight!! I went to check on the T's before bed and noticed that she wasn't so little anymore lol! She got it done pretty fast, as she wasn't even flipped over when I was upstairs feeding Karina and getting some more substrate into Noelle's final tank a couple hours earlier. She's already back upright, and looking sooooo stunning. I might try for some pictures tomorrow...hopefully she'll cooperate and it won't turn into another fiasco lol

Thanks! It was a very cool surprise! I think just because I really want it to be Karina; since she's so laid back it would be easy to get her moult out...it will end up being Noelle lol.

The moulting conspiracy continues, looks like your ts are in on it as well bast :( the orange one knew you had left your camera behind and decided to do a quick change while you couldn't get any evidence .)

What did you do with the molt? I guess it looks just like the spider correct?

It's still in the enclosure...haven't managed to grab it out with the tweezers yet without her trying to bolt for the opening lol

My cute little monster finally cooperated today! Didn't move an inch when I opened her enclosure, managed to get the moult out (pretty cool!) and snapped some pictures. I'll definitely get some better pictures once she's into her permanent enclosure that I have planned for her :D But here she is in her bright orange glory:

Very nice, Bast!
I can see my obts moult, but she keeps putting her legs on it and taunting me :D
At one point (because I was being a nervous freak lol), I actually dropped it almost on top of her when I took it out. I flicked it back to the other side with a paintbrush, and then picked it back up with the tweezers. I didn't have anything to worry about though, she just sat there, nice and calm...which is the polar opposite of the way she normally is, speedy gonzales LOL

I LOVE her :) I really am pleased that she doesn't seem to want to bite my face off. She is super fast, but hasn't shown any real defensive/aggressive behaviour (though that may change in the future). I'm not as nervous now as I was in the beginning, more just worried about her running and having to get her back into the little deli cup. I think it will be even better once I find her the perfect 'home'.

I made some phone calls and the place that custom built my brother's salt water tanks, has some top opening 10 gallons (basically tall 10 galleons instead of wide) for $15 dollars...thinking that's a bit big for her right now though? BUT, because I found this information I will probably pick a couple up for future Avics hehe.

No, but I also spoke with the reptile shop I got my T's from and they have ventilated/locking lids that fit on the tanks (both places know of each other), and they are only $5, so it would be $20 for basically a perfect set up. I figure the more 'spare' enclosures I have laying about, the more T's I can justify buying LOL

Also, just because it was kind of cool. I had purchased a small cricket for her before she moulted, but then after she moulted the cricket was 'too small' of a meal for her, so was going to head back over to the shop to buy her a bigger cricket...until I realized that the cricket also moulted and now is the perfect size for her post-moult LOL.
