Escaped H Mac…help!!

After so many years, it finally happened. I had a tarantula escape. And of all of them, it’s my adult H Mac!

She’s been gone for 24h. She escaped into my bedroom (where I still have to sleep…been doing so with the lights on because I’m afraid she’ll crawl into bed with me if I shut them off) and I’m very worried she crawled into the air vents. I found disturbed dust on the underside of the desk her tank sits on, and the vent is directly below it.

I’ve torn my bedroom apart and searched in every spot I can conceive…can’t find her yet.

Very worried she’s ventured into the rest of my [very large] house. I have cats, so I’m worried for their safety.

I’ve had my H Mac for 5 years so I’m crushed that she is missing!

Any tips? It feels like anywhere I look, I’ve already searched there before.

My adult male H. mac once escaped for 2-3 days and like you I searched the room and no sign. Eventually my son shouted for me as there was a T on the wall and yes, it was the H. mac.
He'd made it round 2 sides of the room and was about 12" below the ceiling just chilling. 3 cats spent most of their time in that room, thankfully they hadn't spotted him.
Don't give up hope, keep your eyes open and keep that catch cup at the ready.

This gives me a bit of hope. I certainly hope she shows up, and that it’s me who finds her and not one of my other housemates haha. I do have a catch cup ready! It’s been sitting on my desk since I realized she was missing.

Oof, that's rough. I'd flip over everything, and check behind everything. If not, wait for her to show up on your wall randomly one day like @Enn49 said.

I’ve torn my room apart. Checked everywhere I can think of. I’m honestly really worried she went into the air vents….I certainly hope she shows up one day!

I don’t know if those goes for all H Macs, but in her tank, she almost never came out of her burrow. Seeing her out was a celebratory endeavor. And she was like this over about 4 different tanks (rehouses as she grew bigger). So I’m worried that wherever she is, she won’t come out for a long time :-(

I hope none of your cats find her. H. Macs I have heard can actually be lethal to cats. I hope you find her safe and all stay safe during this stressful escape.
