Nope. This is one of the good things in my life, I'll be burdening someone with a plethora of spiders when I die. My legacy :D
Yes. This is something to consider down the road. I have great plans to mold my nieces and nephew as soon as they're old enough (none are above 20 months) to love these creatures, cuz at least one of them will be the proud owner when I go!

Perfect! I wish I had started keeping years ago, unfortunately my living circumstances did not allow it. My house, my rules now :D

It is too much of a good thing and it has no ill effects whatsoever to me and to the people around me and I am not endangering the Ts lives by keeping them, so why is it an addiction again? ;)

Funny thing, I use those plastic ventilated fish tank tops as well. They work well and I've never had any issues with the small strip of wide mesh in the middle. Plus they have those little plastic sliding locks, for escape artists and spiders big enough to push a lid off.

Whoa, I've never seen those. Are those 2.5 gallon tanks? Two weeks or so ago I had a big old female vagans push the glass lid off and escape into some part of the house. My hope is when we pack up and move her new hide will be revealed.

That's what I say. Sometimes I wonder whether those around me would agree with the "people around me" part, XD. :)

I've seen them for the 10 and 20 gallon tanks, WalMart has them, of all places..
Thanks! I'm on the search now. Ventilation restriction and locking are both things I've wanted for tanks, for years. Thanks also for the well wish. I can't figure how a T that big can hide in such a small house as ours, but once had a similar sized G. pulchra go a few months before she was found, just strolling across the kitchen floor...

I get them at walmart, mine are all 10gal. I use aluminum duct tape to seal the all the plastic vents leaving only the steal mesh in the middle open. They are great, I have had problems with them in the 6 or 7 years I used them.

Thanks @Scoolman. Have yet to make that trip to Walmart, but will get there this weekend. Can hardly believe I haven't seen this type of lid before, but glad now that I know. I'd like to find something for 2.5 gallon tanks, and if they don't come that small, I'm hoping to use the design to make something that small, as well as purchase for the sizes commercially available (10gal).

Speaking of a big dark T come walking in front of you, here's what I found when I lifted up the lid to the substrate bin this morning:
Bvagansfound.jpg

Apparently she goes a-walking during the night. Finally found her way back home. Isn't that strange? She found me. Came back, like a dog or a cat. I think it's been almost a month. She deserves a 10gal with one of those lids. Thanks @MassExodus and @Scoolman. Cheers, yay, on with the addiction! :)

Wow, that long? Must have been a huge relief to found her like that. :)
