Colour variation in P. Metallica

I've noticed that many of the female P. Metallicas have variable body colours. Some are more vibrant blue, and some are a disappointing grey.

What influences this? Are there localities? Lack of selective breeding to improve color? Age? Other factors?

Age....after maturing my female went from blue to white to black. Same female in the photos.

I love the normal Pokie patterns anyway, so different from so many other genera of Ts that even a white/grey/black mettalica isn't a disappointment for me
