I got my T back in early april, along with the stores "store brand" special blend blah blah blah substrate. Came in a ziplock freezer bag
Anyway, after reading thru all these threads and seeing different names of different subs i decided to call The Serpentarium (name of store i bought everything at) and asked them what kind of dirt i bought. They simply said "its our stores special blend" and i asked what exactly it was and they said they couldnt tell me because it was their stores "special blend"..

So heres a picture of it and maybe someone can help narrow down what i have. thanks

Ok thanks. Is that a good sub to use? Also I'm curious, my T is doing something strange right now. Laying on its side with legs against the glass. Molted Thursday.

Peat is good; potting soil you need to be careful with because sometimes it contains chemicals (unless it's organic)---fertilizers, etc. If a pet shop is selling the stuff and advocating it I would think it would be 100% safe...I would hope, anyways! I use shredded coconut husk, you can buy it either loose in a bag (this is easier) or in compressed brick form, in which case it has to be soaked and dried (at least partway) before use. Commercially it's sold under the name EcoEarth, for one.
