So my bird eater molted today and I looked in and a little bit of molt was stuck to her abdomen. I helped her get it off without ripping the abdomen but realized she was missing a leg :/ I can see the new leg stuck in her molt and can see where it ripped off her new coat. There is whitish clear stuff coming out of it. Slowly but enough to make me worry. I took a q-tip and soaked up the little bit there but there's a little more now. Is she bleeding out of it? Should I worry? Should I continue to try and soak it up off her? I've attached some pictures. They aren't the best but.. But the best I could do given the circumstances. Please give me any advice you may have!!!!

She's my baby.

Hi,
If its not showing any sign of stoping then you could use super glue to help clot the wound but only use a very small amount, and your T will regenerate its leg in the next couple of molts.
Be sure to keep us updated on how you get on....

Sorry this happened to your T.
If you don't have super glue, corn starch will work just as well. I keep a small amount in my T emergency kit with a short drinking straw to apply it on the wound.
Keep us posted.

Thank you!! It seems to have stopped on its own.. She's been laying in her water dish since after the molt. I've been keeping a close eye on her. Since its her back leg she kind of drags hersef around now. :( it's so sad. I think she'll be alright but I could be wrong. I'm just watching her and hoping.

I'm glad it stopped on its own and didn't need any intervention,I'm sure that once she hardens up her movement will get better then after a couple molts she'll be good as new again..

Superglue really? Wow, so much I still have to learn.

Yeah I no it sounds crazy but it works quite well as long as you only use a very small amount especially if the wound is on the abdomen as if you where to use too much it could cause a problem with the next molt,I've used it a couple of times on the legs and it worked without problems...
