Thanks for the information.
Do You have any opinion on this statement ?
Personally I'm skeptical of everyone and everything lol.
With that being said, if I ever were to purchase from them it wouldn't be any time soon. There could be plenty of good business going on, I prefer to see how the treat a poor experience, if they seem legitimate at trying to right their wrong, it's worth the gamble.
All I know about the guy, he claims to be in business over a decade, nobody has ever heard of him. All his Facebook accounts are new, no picture, no information. In the past few days he's come up, and in the past few days he still doesn't exist.
Only positive information I've heard, I saw a post from a well known member from here vouching for the man in question. I have not verified with the user of how well they know the supposed owner, or even if it was them posting or possibly a hacked/fake account with the same name.
My two cents, give it time before you buy. If you do buy soon, I wouldn't give them more than two weeks to have the order at your hub/door before you dispute the charges.

There are still lots of established tarantula sellers and breeders, they just may not have the species you are looking for at the time, particularly the hard to find ones. But then again, learn from the Eresus and Simply Spiders fiascos, that even saying you have them doesn’t make it true.

Ok. I know the Man who first partnered with Eresus. A guy here in Cali I had done and still do business with. SOLID GUY! He cut ties n damn near lost his shirt working with Eresus. I also know, met, Jonathan at SevenWonders who also made the mistake of trying to work with Eresus. I had a large pending order while all these changes were going on. Jonathan SOLID GUY also, went out of his way to fill an order that Eresus couldnt fill, eventually coming out of pocket to make right.
Those two, who made the mistake of partnering with Eresus got a bad deal. They are ROCK SOLID guys.
If there really isnt any connection between TarantulaChat and Eresus it will all come out in the wash (so to speak).
However, the species you desire can be found (even on this forum) by reputable sellers. I am sitting on roughly 150 T,s right now, all sizes, sexes. As a collector I stick with a select few dealers and wait til they have what I want. I can also preorder things and wait on their next bulk purchase (typically monthly or bi-monthly). My goto guy her in SoCal is Matt at TheSpiderRoom as I can walk in his store, look him in the eye and peruse his inventory. Many of his custmers do online orders without any hassle at all.
Find a dealer or 2 you like and talk to them. Ask the questions you need answers on. Get what you want, at the price you agree with. Never skimp on shipping.

WHEN IN DOUBT, LEAVE IT OUT.

Thanks for the information but there are still many questions unanswered. Maybe you can shed some light. It is hard to tell where the faults lie.

For one, how exactly did the H. chilensis that Eresus hyped and people ordered turn out to be something altogether different?

Was there an accidental or intentional mix up from the breeding facility? Someone at Eresus, I assumed Matt, kept saying that they were holding off shipping until the slings were eating. It sounded plausible at the time, but I now wonder about the delay.

Another has to do with what Eresus had to offer Matt and Jonathan? I assumed access to breeding facilities. And is the person behind Eresus the person behind this new Outlet that has cropped up?

I'm mostly just curious how they got both my personal and college email addresses. I'm sure my personal email is out there on multiple vendor lists so that's explainable, but my .edu college email?? I don't think I've ever used it for anything other than things related to school even once so I'm confused about where/how that was acquired to send me that mass email they sent out.

For whatever reason Tarantula Forum deleted my post. That’s a shame.

There is tons of evidence of who this new company is and their sketchy past history. This is the same scammer that ripped people off under the name Eresus spider shop. If this forum is protected these scammers, they should be ashamed and held responsible when their members here get ripped off. The spider hobby has had enough of people getting robbed and should work together to weed them out. Not protect them.

I am not sure that anyone is protecting them here. Just a lot of questions.

They are absolutely protecting them. They DM’d me parroting legal threats Tarantula Outlet made have deleted several posts warning people about them. A “we’l respected member” of this forum who can’t be named is apparently more reliable than the mountain of evidence against “Mike”.

I just want to state for the record that Tarantula Forum (this website) has no affiliations with any breeders, wholesalers, retailers, or other vendors in the hobby. We provide a space for people to discuss their transactions with others and those discussions generally need to stay in that allocated area of this site. I will be in touch with the moderators to ensure that the community guidelines are being enforced - nothing more, nothing less.

Is there a "known scammer" area on the website? I think of people are suspicious of new "dealers" with wild claims, and nobody is willing to give any proof otherwise. I think there should be a section to post up what we do know about the person in question.
With all the removal of posts, and nobody verifying why posts are being deleted. It's clearly led to panic.
I can say I've taught Tom Patterson all he knows, it doesn't make it true, and you would all be right to scrutinize. LIARS AND THIEVES NEED TO BE POINTED OUT.
If anyone has proof contradicting what is laid out, say it. It's that simple. No need to hide behind somebody else. We could have a nice discussion, but instead there's just a lot of hiding any allegation made, which leads to more fear.
My two cents on the matter.

As always, buyer beware and proceed with caution. Do your due diligence. Do not send large amounts of money over the internet to someone you've never met. Use a third party that both buyer and seller trust. There's lots of ways to safely do business online including even escrow services. What we don't allow is dogpiling, speculating, and harassment.

As I stated, people are merely stating facts, which leads to speculation on who the entity is, so I kind of see your point there.
It's also hard to be weary of shady dealers when as soon as their legitimacy gets brought into question, the disappearing posts start. That's not beneficial to any buyer, only shady sellers and their affiliates.
If there is no place to question a super dealer that miraculously pops up, that's the problem then.
There is no harassment, no defamation, just people stating what they've seen, i.e. facts. There is two people hurt by the sayings and I understand that, but I'm pretty sure they're both adults and SHOULD be able to clarify who they are.
It's nonsense, and it shouldn't go on behind curtains, bring it forward for everyone to see or step aside.
Not trying to step on toes or say how to run a website, just saying it doesn't sit well for anyone looking in I would imagine. Transparency goes a long ways, words only go so far.
"Mike" has made it abundantly clear to avoid him and his partnered user on here like the plague. I'm not worried about myself buying from him, I'm worried about the 10s/100s of people that will never know, the people that could've seen all these little coincidences will not see them now.
I'm clearly falling on deaf ears, but can't say I didn't try. More than Mike or his friend can say.

There is a Tarantula and Invert Vendor Reviews section.

There is a Tarantula and Invert Vendor Reviews section.

But not somewhere you can post a review without having gambled your money away to the "seller"? I don't want to spend $100 just to say a guy doesn't exist....
I figured there was maybe a section where you could just say "buyer beware they have some things you should know before ordering" let it be known that that section hasn't, and likely won't, but from them.

That could really help avoid issues with shady dealers. Being since there was two cases of bad dealers popping up, taking money, and leaving, I feel it would be beneficial to have a section made exclusively for "shady dealers" or even "shady people, probably shady dealer". I believe the latter is currently where this should be placed.
