Hi!! This is my first tarantula and I started a page for them on Instagram. Someone there told me my spider was female. I’m not sure if it’s correct so please help me and tell me if you know. I am dying to know because I love my spider dearly and I want to know how long I have with them. Their name is Hershey btw.

I could be wrong but to my knowledge all immature juveniles will look female, sexing before maturity is done by examining the inside of the shed exoskeleton.

I'm only going on what I've read on the forum, it could be that someone can tell from a ventral shot at a certain size. Now that we've commented this thread will come back to the top of the "new content" list again so hopefully a more experienced keeper will chime in.

I’ve had 4 skilled tarantula keepers tell me she is a female. One is a member of the British Tarantula society. They even sell slings and let you pick a gender so I feel like there must be a way you can tell.
