So as much as I like to think I know what I'm doing w/ my tarantulas, I probably don't. I've only been at it 2 months here, & does it even count if the first tarantula is MIA? Heck, until a week ago I was calling them spiders!
I was putting a toy away in my son's room when I noticed my GBB on a walkabout in its cage. Have never seen it doing that before, so I worried it was hungry. We only have 1/4"-1/2" crickets & the smallest T's (B. vagans) abdomen is about 1/2", so I've been feeding each Tarantula about 5 crickets per week.
I thought to take Kiwi's wandering as an opportunity to photograph it for your opinions: Is it too fat, too skinny? Am I feeding too much/too little? As I was pondering that, Kiwi scared out and pounced on an escaped cricket...
Go into our bedroom to find the B. vagans climbing way up his glass. This is the most active of my three, but again, hungry? Too fat, too skinny?
Forget pics of my G. pulchra; haven't seen this one out of its burrow in over a month! Jokes on it though; dug it's burrow on the side of its glass house so I see it eat 5-6 times a week.
Thanks for the time, guys. Sorry for the bad pics on Fig.
