The American Tarantula Society in conjunction with an anonymous donor and with help from Ken the Bug Guy announces our: “Holiday, any day, every day, our hobby is beautiful” contest.

CONTEST RULES
1) The contest is open only to ATS members in good standing. If you are not an ATS member or your membership has lapsed, you may purchase or renew your membership at http://atshq.org/shop.php. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Those under the age of 18 may enter the contest via an adult family member with current paid membership. Entrants must be residents of the continental United States.
2) Entries must feature an ATS appropriate invertebrate as well as convey the contest theme: tarantulas, scorpions, millipedes, true spiders etc.
3) Contest is open from 12/21/12 through 2/2/2013. Entries, regardless of submission method (mailed or digital) must be RECEIVED by 2/2/13 (Groundhog Day) to be eligible. Winners and Runners Up will be decided by a majority vote of the ATS Officers and Board, and will be announced 3/1/2013 (305th day of the year) via email, phone, and mail.
4) Entrants are allowed a maximum of TWO entries into the contest. Winners may only win one prize regardless of number of entries.
5) Entries shall be in form of photography or art; entries may be of any medium. All submissions become the property of the ATS. Entries submitted via mail cannot be returned, but will be donated to our annual raffle held at our conference in Tucson, Arizona July 25 – 28, 2013.
6) ATS Officers and Board Members are not eligible.
7) Prizes are for total vendor amounts only, thus shipping for prizes is the responsibility of the individual winners and runners up.

THEME and SPIRIT:
Our contest theme is "Celebrate the Day!" The holidays are upon us, but why should they get all the glory? There are plenty of good days out there...from Halloween to Valentine's Day, to birthdays and Fridays! Heck, make up a day to celebrate. If you celebrate National Save a Spider Day (March 14th), show us how with your invertebrate helpers!

PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd place, with 4 Runners Up. Prizes will be as follows:
1st Place: $400 Gift Certificate to KenTheBugGuy.com and a $75 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com
2nd Place: $300 Gift Certificate to KenTheBugGuy.com and a $50 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com
3rd Place: $200 Gift Certificate to KenTheBugGuy.com and a $25 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com
Additionally, 4 Runners Up will be selected to each receive a $25 Gift Certificate to Amazon.com.


SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY
There are THREE ways to submit your entries:
1) Photographs may be mailed or emailed to the address below.
2) Art work itself may be mailed to the address below, but shipping and packaging is up to to the entrant.
3) Photographs of the artwork, if you do not want to mail/donate it may be mailed or emailed to the address below.
