Agitated curly hair?

Hi guys. I got a curly hair T a few weeks ago. She usually doesnt move around much. But the last few days shes been bolting all around her enclosure. Any idea what causes this?

I have her in a large critter tote filled halfway with eco earth with cork flats. She is not near my other tarantula so she cant see it. Shes in a corner on a book shelf in a quiet room. I havent changed her routine either.

Bolting...Im assuming there may be a draft or vibration that she's responding to. They can get edgy right before premolt kicks in also. As for your other spider...their eye sight sucks, they can't see each other.
Ok thank you! She hasnt molted at all yet. But i did only get her a few weeks ago. I did get a small betta tank thats across the room, maybe the filter vibrates too loud for her. Thank you!

Filter on a Betta tank will anny the Betta more than the spider. They like still water.

He actually is a lot more active now with it. Its a 5gallon filter on 15gallons so its not a lot of flow for him. Thank you for your concern!

Ill be moving his tank though since it could be from the vibrations thats making my T bolt all over. Its the only thing thats changed, or my T is going into premolt as suggested above. :)

Good morning Yoshi,
I might be wrong but I definitely do not believe the aquarium filter is to blame here. In the garage where most of my Ts are, I have some speakers against the walls and put some loud music when doing some husbandry or feeding them. Because of the music and the bass against the wall (vibrations), which I believe are much higher than the aquarium filter, none of my Ts (around 100) bolt or start acting irrationally. In the contrary, the trend is for them to actually come out gently. It is quite impressive as I have a wall of stacked up exo terra enclosures for my arboreal and within 10 minutes of starting the music they are all out of their hides. Apparently my Doja Cat Pandora playlist must be mimicking a bug caught in distress :p
Would it be possible to get a picture of your T and the enclosure?

She seems to be ready to molt (she looks quite dark). I do not see an issue with the enclosure. Just make sure she has fresh water and that it is warm enough where you have her. Check also for any draft or anything that could blow by the enclosure. Last but not least, maybe she is just displeased that the beta is getting a 15 gallons tank when she is in a plastic critter cage :p (she's obviously not aware that you have something better on the way).

Maybe she is jelous of the betta :p I havent noticed any drafts near her. Im cleaning out her water dish today as she keeps kicking dirt in it when she runs past it. Should i wait to feed her? Or try and remove food if she doesnt take it? Thanks for the help!

No wonder she's pissed off, she's in a Kritter Keeper

Doesn't necessarily look like premolt to me, I've got several darker Nicaraguan albopilosus

Shes been ok in it the past few weeks, and im not sure why shes just now having issues.

I know a kritter keeper isnt the best, thats why i have a Tranatula cribs being shipped for her to be in. I ordered it the day i got her, and its still prossesing as theyre back ordered now :(

Offer her food if you would like then leave her be for a few hours. If she doesn't take the food after a few hours, remove it. Do not worry about the dirt in the water dish, she doesn't it on purpose to fine tune your husbandry's skills ;)

That's awesome! I guess my Ts think they are in Clowny's house--they seem to like it when I pump up Chevelle!
