So I'm new to the hobby and i was doing some looking around online at different Tarantula species and i think i found two more Ts that i really want.
The first on is typhochlaena seladonia
It's such a beautiful spider and very interesting. I think its cool that it builds its trapdoor home in the holes on trees.
does anyone here have one of these? If so, how do you like it?
The second T i want is the chilobrachys sp electric blue
the color on this spider is stunning. Does anyone here have one of these? How do you like it if you do have one?

There are new restrictions on the t seledonia (I don't know enough about it to explain properly) and it's also hell of an expensive T , I think most people would want one but not many have .
The electric blue looks cool but I personally still think the p Metallica is the best looking T on the market. It's obviously personal opinion thou :).

How many/what species of T do you have at the moment? It's ridiculously addictive and your list of 2 could very easily grow to a list of 10, then 20. Then your house is taken over.

Yeah ive heard of the expense of the seledonia. Like 600$. Not anything i would get any time soon.
I agree that the p. metallica is a very good looking T. I didnt realize there are restrictions on the seledonia. Ill have to look that up. Right now i only have one T, an a. metallica. Ive only had her for a week and im already hooked. There are a ton of Ts that i want now. I can see this getting very expensive.
I initially thought about sticking to the calmer NWs but the more i look around the more i see a lot of OWs i also want. The OBT is really cool. I also quite like the blue legged baboon.
How many Ts do you have?

I've only been in the hobby for a few months but I'm currently on 10 (2 more in transit) all of mine are NW thou and not particularly big for a T . Atm there are 5 more that I want (Gbb, p Metallica, e sp red, e sp yellow and c versicolor) but as I'm working away from home I'm very limited on space (and I'm not suppose to have pets lol) so I'm trying not to get too many. Although I can't help but look online daily

Cool. Another new guy. It seems tarantulas are becoming a lot more popular. Im definitely going to be getting more Ts myself. Its a bit overwhelming though because i pretty much want ever one i see Lol. Looking online i feel like a kid in a candy store with only a dollar to his name and 10,000 dollars worth of candy that he wants. I quite like my avic metallica and ill probably get a few more avics before moving on to more aggressive/defensive species. Ive been treating my avic like a more aggressive one in order to get in the habit of always using tongs and taking precautions when feeding, cleaning, and watering.
Hopefully after a bit of practice i can get some OWs and nott have any issues with feeding, watering, cleaning, and changing enclosures.
what 2 Ts are you currently waiting for? It'd be cool to see some pictures of them once they arrive.

They're on there way now. I've ordered a juv Lasiodora parahybana and a juv female Eupalaestrus campestratus. I do want to get some aboreal species soon but I'm in transit with jobs atm so until I start my new job and settle in I'll stick to what I currently have.

Even with all my NWs I don't handle or give a chance to hair/bite me. Even though they're only small and fairly harmless/doscile I want to get into the habit of everything can bite so don't risk it :)

Oh cool. I was also looking at getting a lasiodora parahybana. Both are handsome spiders.
yeah, i think its good practice to treat them all with respect. Like i said, i let her crawl across my hand and into her new enclosure just the one time but from now on thag wont be something i do on a regular basis. Enjoy your new spiders and good luck with the new job.

Very beautiful and impressive spiders . Looking forward to watching them grow . I think the main reason I want a Euathlus sp red (other than being cute as) Is their curiosity and their nature . Feel like if I had one of these I won't feel then need to interact with any other T . Unfortunately someone offered me an AF sp red and then I can only imagine changed their mind as she isn't replying to my messages

Thanks :). I'm sure it'll be fine.

Yes the Euathlus sp red is one of the ones i wanted to get before i settled on my a. mettalica. I had a hard time finding one. Thats a bummer that the person who offered you one is now ignoring you. Thats so frustrating. The least they can do if message you and say the deal is off or they changed their mind. I feel the same about my avic. Shes cute to me and ive been very scared of spiders my whole life. Before getting my first T. I was really trying to get the Euathlus sp red. Maybe one day.

I have 5 Chilobrachys including fimbriatus sp. Violet, huahini, sp Nong Ya Plong, sp. Blue Vietnam and sp. kaeng krachan. They all web a lot but some are more visible than others.
Euathlus sp red is an adorable little T but ohhh sooo slow growing.
Lasiodora parahybana on the other hand grows extremely fast and love their food..

Yea.its just polite to atleast reply. I was after a red and she offered it to me. When I said I was interested she also said she had a yellow and both for £50 . I offered her £60 to cover the delivery as it was a good price (even thou she said she would deliver both for 50) waited a few days as she was on holiday and now she isn't replying. Just rude if u ask me. Enn I've recently bought 2 very small slings. I can only imagine how slow they grow. I'd imagine the lp reaches full size before I get 1 molt out of them lol

Wow. Pretty slow growers huh? How often do they molt?

I got it at about a year old and that 1st year it moulted 3 times, then last year it moulted twice and nothing yet this year although I think one may be imminent as it has burrowed which is most unusual.
