Hey guys. My first post. My first Tarantula. I don't know how to sex or age my Tarantula. I imagine more photos would be required to make this determintaiton, but the spider prefers to burrow. I purchased the spider three days ago.
Hey everyone,
I can't make out anything on this molt. I am thinking male but also still too small to tell. This is a 1.5 to 1.75 in pulchra. Tried looking under a microscope but still wasn't really sure if I could make out anything. Attached are bunch of different photos in different lighting to...
So as a new tarantula hobbyist I purchased my first tarantula, an unsexed Avicularia Avicularia, from a retail pet chain about 6 months ago and we've been doing great! Eating, webbing, everything is going smoothly until we had a very long and tiring pre-molt. My avic protested food for a month...
Not a lot of experience with ventral sexing, so I wanted to ask for a second opinion! Just picked up this juvenile A. chalcodes yesterday, about 3" legspan. Based on a few google searches my guess is male, anyone else have an idea?
Hi everyone,
Today I get to sex my very first molt and I barely got it out intact! To be honest, I'm not quite sure if what I'm looking at is spermatheca or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have been calling her Tina and I think she is a girl but I’m not really sure Bc this whole time I thought her butt was her head so now realizing she might be a boy. I’m very new to this. What do you think?
I just recently got this little guy and I was lucky enough to get a molt! I'm still pretty new to tarantulas, so I'd really like some help. The molt wasn't the best, so I'm not sure if my pictures are good enough. Can you tell?
Hey guys,
I had the chance to get some pictures of the underside of my T.Violaceus today.
It is my biggest Tarantula atm and i would be very happy if it was a female.
I know the Quality is not the best but i still hope that it is enough to at least guess the gender before i get a molt to verify...
Hey everyone. I'm very new here. Can anyone sex my versicolor? Depending on the sex, I may be excited or planning a burial since it's 4 years old. Thanks!
I'm an amateur having trouble sexing this M. Balfouri, it destroys all of it's molts. I have one confirmed female not pictured, they are very similar. However she only webs up her little hut not her entire enclosure like this one does. I was wondering if maybe the webbing attached to the short...
It keeps destroying its moults and I’m dying to know what it is! I’m just not that great at ventral sexing and would like someone else’s opinion! Thanks in advance!
I have been unable to find information on the sexual dimorphism of a johnnycashi. I understand as adults it’s quite clear but when do the differences come to light? I have a 3”-4” That has the charcoal black coloration. Haven’t had a molt yet but I’d hate to scramble for a female if he matures...
I suck at sexing younger molts. I don't own a microscope anymore and don't want to wait a year for them to get big enough for me to know the gender of my T.
I suspect Sing is a girl but wanted extra eyes.
