This thread was about how it's being handled here. I don't know what your obsession with Arachnoboards is.
I certainly haven't seen posts there about tarantula forums, but I haven't spent much time there lately. Nice accusation I guess, but my name is the same there.
Regardless, how it's...
I'm not sure why we're discussing how another forum is handling this situation. I'm certainly not going to champion them, but their application of their rules in this regard were applied fairly and consistently.
The ones here appear to have been applied on technicalities to protect a favored...
It was locked right after it was mentioned moderators were deleting posts mentioning who owned this new "outlet". Yet there is nothing about them under vendor reviews. Is this because a purchase is required to post there?
I find this to be very alarming, and others should be alarmed as well...
I would highly suggest crushing the heads of the superworms (or just pulling the head off) before dropping them in. Those that burrow can kill your T if it happens to molt or freshly after a molt.
Recently ordered a tarantula from Casey. It was my first order from an individual and Casey was great! She communicated each step of the way with me, and the T arrived right on time and very healthy. I would absolutely order more tarantulas from Casey in the future.
I'm planning to add ventilation with a bit made for glass. I have a drill press too I can use. The process may end up taking longer than I want to deal with, but we'll see with a few test runs!
Has anyone used Mason jars for enclosures? I have cheaper deli cups and a few more expensive enclosures - testing the waters so to speak. This isn't a need thing. I was thinking, however, that it could be really cool to use mason jars. For Arboreal they'd be great, all the way up to a 1-gallon...
It is one of those two genera I listed then. I can't tell the species, but the care is the same. You'll want an arboreal enclosure. It's difficult to see the size but I would guess 3/4" to 1"? Something like a 50-dram vial would work, or maybe 2- or 3-inch square and 4 or 5 inches tall. I can't...
This is just a guess on my part, buy it looks like either an Avicularia or Caribena sling. I think it'll be difficult to narrow it without a more clear picture, but if others agree at least you'll know you want an arboreal enclosure.
This thread is a bit old, but I have a question. I appreciate that the OP and several follow-up responses just used "antihistamine". I often see people specifically say they take Benadryl after a bite on bite-reports. Very often.
As a disclaimer, I have no medical degree and I'm fairly new to...
Hey everyone!
My name is Tim, and I'm new to the forum and new to tarantula keeping. I had never intended to keep tarantulas most of my life, although I've always thought spiders were really cool. I grew up in West Virginia and didn't even realize tarantulas were in the U.S. until seeing one...
