    Normal Old-age pre-death behavior?

RIP Gazpacho, he was a very good boy and I will miss him very much. My mature male curly hair passed away today. It has been 7 months since his final molt. I felt like their were signs this week and I'm wondering now if this was normal behavior before dying of old age, or if he was sick and I...

    C. Versicolor sling/juv enclosure

Mesh tops can be dangerous, Tarantula Collective mentions in a few "Mistakes that Beginners Make" videos that Tarantulas can get their little legs stuck, and either be trapped for hours or tear their leg off. If your enclosure has mesh it is best to replace it with a sheet of acrylic. You...

    Hamster Tube?

I'm wanting to recommend my Curly Hair to give him more space. My boy is very very nervous of human activity, so I want to make this as least stressful for him as possible. I'm considering adapting the cardboard and cup method- instead of a cup there would be an opening to a hamster tube. The...

    Last Molt?

My male Curly Hair, approximately 18 months old, molted last week and it looks like he has developed hooks on his front legs. Pics below, are these the hooks that indicate my boy has completed his last molt and is now mature?

    Legs pulled over face

I'm actually not certain if it is pine, I just made an assumption from the look of it. I bought this cover at petco and they do not state what kind of wood it is. I will replace it with a plastic cover just in case

    Legs pulled over face

I'm sure that's him, he buried his last molt on the other side of the enclosure. Thank you for your response

    Gazpacho

We are not sure, the person who gifted him to my friend told her he was a male. We don't know how sure she was, or where she got him though.

    Legs pulled over face

This morning I found my ~18 month old, curly hair tarantula at the bottom corner of his tunnel with all of his legs pulled back over his face and body. Frantic googling informed this this is not a death curl, but a sign of extreme stress. I know he has been very stressed since the temperatures...

    Gazpacho

Hello, I am a tarantula beginner, I have one male Curly Hair named Gazpacho. I believe he is about 18 months old, but his previous owner could not verify his age or where he came from. A friend of mine received Gazpacho as a white elephant gift, and passed him on to me one year ago when she...
