    Norfolk (UK) wild parakeets.

It always gets my attention when non-native species take hold some place. I think Florida has more introduced species than native ones anymore. My personal favorite though, are these guys...

    First meal!

None of my Brachypelmas are consistent eaters. My B. emilia will go a month or two between meals.

    Favorite Tarantula YouTubers?

My go-to is Tom Moran with Tom's Bif Spiders. Dave's little Beasties is pretty good too.

    Norfolk (UK) wild parakeets.

From Wikipedia: "Its adaptations to cold winters in the Himalayan foothills allow it to easily withstand European winter conditions.[3] The European populations became established during the mid-to-late 20th century." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose-ringed_parakeet

    Who's molted today

My Nhandu tripepii also molted a few days ago. I can't get over how much size they put on between molts.

    Feeding Springtails

I have a Canadian nightcrawler colony for my pacman frog. They live better in there than they do in the frog enclosure. That just gets whatever leftover bits of vegetables I have laying around. I mix a little brewer's yeast in the substrate for the frog enclosure, but I definitely don't see...

Refusing food for over a year!!!

Can confirm. If I was going to be shrunk down and placed in one of my tarantula's enclosures, I'd want it to by my A. johnnycashi with my A. chalcodes being a close second. They appear to be able to live off air.

Reacting to negativity as a T owner.

I don't know that I have gotten any outright negative comments, but I have come to appreciate how gut-level afraid some people are of certain things. I have tarantulas and a snake so there are folks out there that won't even pull in my driveway. That said, I don't have too many people I...

    Horned Worms

I too, have never had much luck giving hornworms to my crew. Fortunately for me I usually have at least one spider who eats absolutely anything. Unfortunately, that is the best I got for that. I don't worry about giving my tarantulas a varied diet. They seem to do just fine off just crickets...

    latrodectism.

I'm not putting up a handy graphic for priapism. I seem to remember there is/was research into the venom of the Brazilian wandering spider (Phoneutria nigriventer) because one of the effects was priapism.

    Jittery since molt

Can confirm. My A. chalcodes went from being a chow-hound to living off air post-molt. My T. albopilosus is in what I refer to as it's teenager phase. It stays in its burrow 99.9% of the time. If you drop food in front of the hole, it snatches it and returns to its room. That is, when it hasn't...

    Greetings

Greetings and welcome aboard! My G. pulchra buried itself for around 4 or 5 months. It happens. When I started out, I only wanted to have one tarantula. My first order came with a freebie, so that went straight out the window. Then I managed to get interested in a few other species. Reading...

    Happy holiday everyone

Happy Holidays everybody! I'm sure there are tons of different versions of this out there. Here is the Wikipedia version. Not sure how today is the first time I'd heard about it, but I thought I'd share! Cheers! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legend_of_the_Christmas_Spider

    Hiding

Depending on the species, you may be waiting a while. Some of my Aphonopelmas bury themselves for months. My Grammastola pulchra and a couple of my Tliltocatls did a few times as well come to mention it.
