    Switching two A. avic enclosures?

The more active T is a female (not sure about the other one) and their enclosures are next to each other so the heat is consistent I've had them both about two years and it's been this way the whole time. They both seem to molt and eat just fine, it's just that one doesn't want to move around a...

    Switching two A. avic enclosures?

Yeah, they're large enuf and this won't be their first house cleaning. I do that about every six months or so, including new substrate. My only concern was that changing their environment too much (other than just cleaning) may have a negative impact. :T: Sent from my Commodore 64 running...

    Switching two A. avic enclosures?

I have two A. avics and it's time for a house cleaning. They're each living very comfortably in a couple of Exo Terras. One is 8x8x12 and the other is 8x12x12. The spider in the smaller Exo is much more active than the one in the larger one (that figures). Here's my question: Would it be OK to...

    Crickets Vs. Roaches

I like the crix. I get six (but no egg roll) about every week or so and they're gone within a couple of days. No muss, no fuss. Esmeralda, my 5.5" LP, will eat more than my two A. avics combined. The two pet stores in my area (Petco & Pet Smart) don't carry roaches. The avics don't really go...

    A minnow-eating LP?

A buddy and I went fishing the other day and he asked me if Esmeralda (my 5.5" LP) would eat a small minnow. I told him I didn't know if she would or not. Aside from not being gut loaded like the crix she devours, I wasn't sure if there is any harm (or value) in it. I told him that I would throw...

    LP substrate question

I've had her for over a year now and the only climbing she's ever done is on top of her half-round. Never up a wall or anything like that. Maybe she's just one of those that doesn't take to climbing or burrowing. Sent from my Commodore 64 running Windoze 95

    LP substrate question

I have a non-burrowing 5.5" LP residing in a 10-gallon tank. I used to have 4-5" of substrate (coco fiber) in her enclosure thinking she would dig into it. Never happened. She doesn't climb but likes to sit on her flat rock or on top of her half-round hide, but never once went underground. Long...

    Tarantula in mouth? Handling Q’s

I just read up on those two. Apparently they both have rather potent venom. Good choices for him. :T: Sent from my Commodore 64 running Windoze 95

    Tarantula in mouth? Handling Q’s

When I first read your post about putting them in your mouth I thought you were joking. Then I scrolled further down the page and realized you were serious. Really? I have a small plastic T that I sometimes put in my mouth and occasionally freak out friends that stop by but that's as far as it goes.

    Tarantula in mouth? Handling Q’s

I guess what I was asking was out of 900-some species, were those two random picks or was there a reason.

    Tarantula in mouth? Handling Q’s

At the risk of sounding ignorant, how did you come up with those two?

Guess you're right about being a noob. And you have a lot to learn.

I don't suppose this would qualify, would it? I get that it's not a sling, but what the heck. Sent from my Commodore 64 running Windoze 95
