Hello :)

Your T looks like it's in premolt which would explain the bald patch on its abdomen. They often refuse to eat during this time so it's nothing to worry about.

As for the species, it could be the Honduran form of curly hair. Though it does still have it's sling colors so its hard to tell.

Hi all
Bald patch has nothing to do with premolt. It just kicked some hairs at some point. They do that as a defence when irritated or to add extra security arround the enclosure.
It will be easier to tell when is close to moult tho.The pink skin will turn dark almost black.
Tarantula not eating is rarely a concern. They do that when in premolt yes but also if it has been rehoused lately or any major disturbance. If it is not housed properly or just cause is not hungry .Your has good size abdomen and dont see anything to worry about.Just keep offering pray every week and take it out in 24 h if not eaten and keep the water dish full.

sorry about the bad photo but the cage is probably about 7 inches tall and 12 inches long. I've put in a log hide, a water dish, and that plane for looks.

Hi
It looks ok dept and decoration wise.
A word of advice.I wont use them bark chips if I was you. Some species like to dig and burrow and bark chips are not the best for that.Plus heard that coniferous trees bark may be harmful for Ts because the resins it contains.
Stick to coco fiber all the way myself.
Regards Konstantin

Pine in particular is a nasty substance to put into any animals' enclosure. Google shows many animal keeper forums list it as a killer of animals. But it is especially nasty in an invertebrates enclosure, as pine contains a natural insecticide. But there are alternatives to wood chip & bark, I buy Coconut Terrain from my local Range & that offers some chunks of safe & very lightweight bark, plus fibres to add to an enclosure surface.

I find some of my smaller slings love a small lump of Coconut husk to sit on, or climb on.
