Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and the reason I joined is that I have this new 8 legged friend in my home, it's my second T, but... I don't really know what species is it. In the store they told me that it's an Aphonopelma, but what kind of Aphonopelma? I believe it's a henzti.

Anyway, I hope I can have your help.
Here's a picture, cephalotorax light brown, the legs are light brown too except for the tips that are black and the abdomen is very dark brown

This is an Aphonopelma anax. I believe. I find it hard to distinguish them from hentzi, but I'm not an Aphonopelma guy. For what its worth, that looks like a hentzi to me. Both species territories over lap with each other, here in Texas. Hopefully someone more familiar with them will chime in.

I think it's an A. chalcodes. It looks just like the one my son has.

Too light to be an anax like @MassExodus found, coloring is wrong for a hentzi, unless it's still growing into the adult colors. Hentzi have really dark legs on the first section (femur?) a light tan carapace, and a darker abdomen, kind of in between color of the legs and carapace. I want a hentzi myself :) i like that contrasting dark/light color.

Yep that looks like all the anax i've seen. the dark on the first part of the legs with the light tan carapace is gorgeous.

My theory that a wild spider wouldn't turn its nose up at dubia seems to be holding up..she devours them like candy;)
I've actually got a few of mine eating dubia now. Some still ignore them unless they break out of playing dead early.
