I'm an equine behavior specialist who is in the hobby of keeping tarantulas. This is brand new as my biological mum was absolutely horrified of them! It wasn't until a chance encounter at a reptile expo that I was able to hold a Curly Hair for the first time. She was so calm and her paws were so sweet that my logic brain reminded me that if it has paws, it must be a friend! Fast forward a bit and I got to have a Versicolor sling for about two weeks before she died and I think that goes to show that as slings the are NOT a beginner species! A couple of weeks later at my local exotics shop there was a Chalcodes that needed a home. She was an owner surrender and just the sweetest girl. "Legs" ended up coming home with me and she is the best pet rock ever.
I've just graduated from my equine behavior program and as a gift I got myself a H. Chilense sling! "Flaming Hot Cheetos," or just Cheetos, was named by my twin and will be delivered on the 9th after I finish running my barn for the week. I cannot wait to get more too. Naturally I live the most bloody expensive lifestyle (thank you horses and the fact that I finance it all myself) and now also have another hobby that isn't cheap.
My dream T is the A. Mooreae, and I'm actively looking so if anyone is willing to part with one for a decent price and ship it I'm willing to talk! My favorite genus is Aphonopelma and I plan to have a whole shelf of them. Pictured are Legs and my horse Nala, who is the best money pit in the world.
