So I offered Noelle (our new rosie) a couple of 4 week crickets last night, and she snatched them both up at the same time within a split second! I barely even got to watch her snag them lol. It was so awesome...especially since Karina loves to take her time and I have never got to see her actually grab her prey yet.

I was awestruck that she grabbed them both at once, and was just watching her work on them with her fangs and then she did something even cooler...she started doing a circular dance and laying down a web mat! It was amazing!! Maybe I'm easily amused, but I just had to share!

I know what you mean! Velma does this and it is awesome! From my research mainly only captive T's do this, and they aren't sure why. Maybe to set up a security area (notice if she's kicking hairs while she does it) or if it's just a comfort thing. Very cool behaviors.

Still a cool behavior though. From what I have read it varies from T to T how they do it, like their own little feeding ceremony. :)

She is laying a picnic cloth to catch dropping bits. Watch for a while and you will see her drop the prey onto the mat web over them then pic up her bug "burrito" and continue to chow down. Very fun to watch. They are such amazing creatures, and we know so little about them. Every observation is priceless and adds invaluable information to the knowledge base.

She didn't web them at all, she munched both of them down...didn't even leave any left over bolus' lol. Was super cool to watch! Looking forward to the next feeding time to see if she continues to do this at each feeding :D She is a very interesting spider, I was expecting a 'pet rock', but she's definitely been anything but! Lots of neat behaviours from this one!
