Hey all, my sling T. albopilosum just molted to around 3cm (just a guess since is hiding in burrow currently) would it be okay to move it to a larger home? It's currently in The Spider Shop 9cmx9cm sling box, should I wait until it's bigger just in case the move makes it stressed?

Hmmm. Are you sure it just molted? If it just molted, at minimum wait for its body to firm up. Wait a good two weeks. Then take a peek. If you aren't sure if it molted, it could be just acting like a pet hole. Like mine does. (Weirdo).

Either way, if you confirm it's hardened up and it's 1/3 the size of the enclosure, yeah, graduate it to a larger enclosure. What size do you have planned for the next stage?

Curly hairs can handle being snuggly for a bit.

Yes it's plenty large enough to be rehoused out of that enclosure. Slings harden much faster then adult tarantulas. Usually in less then two to three days. Your good to go.

I waited 5 days to rehouse my little P. irminia after molt just to be safe. And I was a little intimidated. My Avic is a runner and rehousing required several re-catchings before it finally complied. I wasn't looking forward to chasing another baby around a plastic tub. But surprising the PI was a breeze. None of this teleportation I've read about.
Good luck with your rehouse!
