They can. Make sure it's something that is freshly killed and it's still best to not give anything larger than their abdomen.
Just set it in front of them and let them find it. If it's still there tomorrow then remove it and try again later.
Most prefer to offer live food as it satisfies the T's need to hunt, but this does work in a pinch.

I've fed slings prekilled small crickets before when I've not had pinheads and they'll eat what they want and leave the rest.

I've even given slings cricket parts when they are very small. Like half a small cricket or just the leg of a large cricket. Just drop it in and they will find it.

I've only gotten 1 sling to eat prekilled. and that's because it was moving. Half mealworm rolled down the web to the A. versicolor 
Every other time i try i end up removing it the day after. My T's are all way to picky

At one time I was feeding about 20 slings superworms cut in half. Whether they prefer it or not, if they get hungry they'll eat it. Bar none, in my experience. It's nice to give them what they love, like red runner nymphs, but they'll eat what you have available, I promise you. Cut the tip of your finger off, and when a sling gets hungry enough, it will sit on it and feast for 2 days. lmao.

I have 5 slings brazilian red +white chile rose, curly hair, OBT, and a sun tiger. I know wat your finking no way not a obt but he's not to bad but see the chile and the curly hair they go nuts when I droped the crickets in straight on it.
He's not too bad....yet. The OBT I own now was actually a pretty chill spider until he molted an attitude.
