Tarantula Age?

How is Tarantula age counted? Is a tarantula a year old after a year or is their age counted after they molt? Got Nurmi when she was 2 years old but now that I think about it I'm wondering if she's older since she molted once in my care and much more in the previous owners care.

When it hatches to eggs with legs...that's when I consider it day one. Maybe others count it at first instar...maybe when the sack is dropped also????

I think it's just years. If you have an adult brachy that hasn't molted in 8 years or so it's still getting older.

I use years for their age but I also try to keep track of what instar they are especially the slings.
