OK, se we are all pretty much IT and text savvy these days and thanks to @CrypticSpider following another fantastic picture thread of his, he got me thinking, what is the best "text speak" for our beloved Ts.
Here is Crypticspiders contribution that I have stolen with pride....(hope he doesn't mind....LOL):
Mbal4i ( M. Balfouri)

OK, some ground rules...
1 No 2 letter acronyms as that's just lazy
2 Must use either the scientific or the common name for he basis of the text speak conversion

Let's see what we can come up shall we ☺

oh hell. i have a hard enough time deciphering my son's text messages. now we gotta do it with T's?!?!? ;)

Here's an easy one - GBB :p
That's all i can come up with multi-tasking here and with work. I'll have to think of some later this evening.

The only text speak I use is lol or whatever, to indicate amusement. It cuts down on smiley faces, which I've been told i use too much. :) But then I notice myself using lol too much, and when I re read the post I'm thinking, damn, did I laugh that much ? I did not. It looks goofy, lol, you know? rofl. See? I prefer the smilies. But w8 m8, let me think on it..maybe I can come up with something..

I only use this for my pic titles. For example: "fBr8m".

Brachypelma auratum. :)

Binomial Nomenclature, with over 900 species, it is the only way to avoid confusion and species mixups.

I agree with this 100%. I avoid common names as much as possible.

@Scoolman - he who said "It's my way or the highway" is the one who told me: Never use common names! If you are in a discussion, using binomial nomenclature ensures an exact subject, no doubts about what genus/species is being discussed.

Wise words, and I adhere to it. :)

I learn mine as I get one, and try not to misspell it, sometimes though things are just fun to do ^^
