Hey Guys and Gals,

I am considering getting a Mexican Redknee Tarantula as a pet. I am a complete novice (never had a tarantula before) and am hoping to get some info beforehand.

First and foremost, what degree of care is required? How often do I need to feed / provide water / etc.? How often do I need to clean the terrarium? What's the normal degree of care vs. the minimum care I could get away with (during vacation time or when I am away for work)?

Also, please provide any other tips or recommendations if you have any.

Thank you for your help.

Hello and welcome :)
Any of the Brachypelma species make great first tarantulas.
A tiny sling would need feeding about every 5 days, a juvenile about once a week and the water bowl needs to be kept topped up every few days. Cleaning only involve removing any remnants of food otherwise a full clean is only necessary when rehousing to a larger container.
