Some things that may seem helpful to some people, seem more harmful to others. This post has been deleted for that reason. For those of you who feel it benefits, please just do your research and contribute in that manner. Thank you all so much for your responses.....

You are welcome! Thank you for signing! Hopefully we will be able to "legally" ship via USPS soon....
Tried to sign to show support for my fellow keepers "over the pond" but the zip code results in errors so although I feel your pain, can't sign hun. We have a royal mail special delivery option in the UK which basically means delivery before 1pm the next day. Costs about £8 (6 or 7 dollars?) FOR MOST OF THE UK. I know our little old island is much smaller but to be fair, it's probably pretty cheap compared to some of the shipping costs I have seen you guys pay in the US.

Hey Casey, we have a family owned pet store here and the owner got this little Cobal Blue [...] in yesterday. He was ultra defensive but absolutely beautiful.

Best of.luck.with the petition. These have going out for many, many years now with no luck yet. There recent court cases as well, all of them ended very badly for the hobbiest.

Just looked on the USPS website and this is their policy on shipping live animals.
Live Animals Collapse FAQ question

Shipments of live animals, including poultry, reptiles, and bees, have very specific packaging requirements. Although you can drop these animals at any Post Office location, they are only shipped when the right transportation is available. With a few exceptions, pets and warm-blooded animals may not go in the mail.

Shipping Live Animals Guidelines

and this...

526.6 Small, Harmless, Cold–Blooded Animals
Small, harmless, cold–blooded animals, except for snakes, turtles, and turtle eggs, are mailable only when they meet certain requirements. For some examples, see Exhibit 526.6.

Exhibit 526.6Requirements for Mailing Small, Harmless, Cold–Blooded Animals (Except Snakes, Turtles, and Turtle Eggs)

General Requirements:

All animals in this group:

  • Must be able to reach their destination in good condition in the normal transit time between the mailing and address points.
  • Must not require any food, water, or attention during transport.
  • Must not create sanitary problems.
  • Must not create obnoxious odors.
i dont know....i little unclear....according to this it is to ship tarantulas. USPS. got it from the USPS website.

We do have the ability to delete our own posts, perhaps it would be best if we did so?

And thus we have a prime example of how an unmoderated site is bad. We now have discusions harmful to the hobby happening, and no one with the right access to delete them.
How is it harmful? I thought it was helpful. I will delete my messages.

Your thread, and call for petition, is fine. It helps for usps to see how much business they could have if only they would educate themselves a little bit.

The problem is with all open discussion about shipping, and with which entity. It is simply not done.
Thank you Scoolman. I appreciate your concern and input. Perhaps some things are best left unsaid. :)
