Sexing molt with microscope

I see a lot of people asking at what size you can sex a molt. This is a 1.5” T. blondi using a wifi smartphone microscope. The hardest part is spreading the molt without ripping it.

I’ve found that using a small spray bottle and giving it a mist makes it a lot easier than soaking the molt. For me soaking causes the whole molt to fall apart. A light mist and let it sit for a couple minutes works great.
