Question Regarding Sterilizing and Recycling Substrate

What temperature should I bake substrate to sterilize it without burning it?

Note: I am by no means an expert! But when I've had to sterilize substrates like soil and coco fiber, I bake in the oven at 250 degrees for about half an hour (I check every ten minutes). This has worked for me as far as killing off any gnats or other unwelcome guests.

I typically bake items in the 250degree range when sterilizing for use with my inverts as well.
