Potential Molting Problem - Need advise

Hi,

As I mentioned in my other post my LP is now in pre-molt. Today, for the first time since I got the T it has started burrowing. I can foresee an issue if it decides to do the molting in the little burrow it made because the substrate isn't deep enough and the space between cage bottom and the wood on top insn't enough to get out of the molt. Do you think I need intervene early enough before it becomes a problem?

I agree with Enn... Just left it alone and they can manage their molting... My B. Albiceps is always burrowing and it does always surprise me when it come's out to show it's new look...

Hey Carsten, I wouldn't worry about molting underground, it will eventually push the molt to the surface when it does its "spring" cleaning.
I have many Haplopelma & Ceratogyrus species and they always move the old molt out of their burrows. Eventually. Lol!

My LP has finally molted and it didn't choose to molt in its burrow after all. Was hoping it would be a female but it looks like it's a male. In any case all went well and he is stretching now [emoji3]

I just went through the same thing with my LP about a week and a half ago. LP did fine...and just last night has performed major construction on the burrow! More substrate has been moved out to add more room in the burrow, and the entrances are bigger. LOL... :D

I find a lot of my burrowers enlarge their homes just before they moult.

Such crappy pics. :( eventually, I'll catch them in the open & post something better for each one I have. So difficult when they burrow. It's like owning a herd of pet holes.o_O
