Hey so my wife recently went to a reptile show which is pretty typical we have a ton of reptiles however this time she came home with a curly hair. She had done the research had a nice little container for em, and that was it I was hooked.

So we currently have on Order a few tarantula cribs enclosures, and honestly I’m mad I didn’t get a few more, a new order might be placed lol

I spoke with the vendor she met at the show, if I can leave a name and contact I will but I’ll have to check the rules first.

Anyways the guy was crazy nice and answered some questions and ended up sending me an availability list, so now we have a Grammastola pulchra, Hapalopus sp Colombia Lg both 1/2inch and an additional curly sling, these are both the Tliltocatl albopilosu Nicaraguan variant so that’s cool as well.

These won’t ship until Monday which gives me time to dial everything in, but we’ve already done a bunch of reading. Hope to learn a ton of cool info here, specifically how to get these bioactive, already secured a local source for cow spot isopods and springtails, substrate and all that is already here.

Got bit bad by the spider bug so y’all will see me around

Alright so a lot has happened since getting my 3 spiders in, some related a lot unrelated, luckily these things are crazy easy to care for.

Anyways, I’ve now got a g. Pulchra she (hopefully) is pretty cool and by far my favorite already. The pumkin patch I got is slightly smaller but the colors are slick, and the curly hair sling is crazy small, about 1/4 it looks like but hard to tell.

Now I had set up a tarantula cribs medium for the g pulchra however upon getting them I realized 1/2 is smaller then I realized, and he would for SURE be lost in their making feeding difficult. Luckily I also got a 3 pack of t cribs sling cribs, the holes are slightly smaller and the enclosure makes more sense.

So now all 3 are in their own cribs, it’s been a full 2 days since they were dropped in. The day after I cut up a Very mealworm and Dropped a crumb near each of their current chill spots (g.pulchra kind of just chilling in the open still) and the g pulchra ate before I had the lid back on, the curly ate after I left it for a few hours and I removed the PP bit after 24 hours I’ll try again next week they just got here so I was surprised any ate.

My larger (1 inch maybe) curly has been eating a appropriate sized mealworm every week like clockwork but has recently barricaded itself in

Welcome aboard and good luck! I have a few Tarantula Cribs enclosures, and thety are great!
They are nice. My wife initially started this spider problem when she brought home a curly hair, we figured the cages looked more secure than some of the other ones and we wanted something that looked nice. Wish they made larger setups as these are pretty convenient

Yes, they are very secure. I'm sure at some [point they will start making larger enclosures.

Welcome!!. The addiction is no joke lmao. I started with 2 last year ish and now I'm at 20!!. N the enclosures/rehousing is one of the best parts of the hobby imo. How close and creative we can get turning a piece of plastic/glass into a home for each individual species in our care is awesome. I love learning and creating. I recently also got a couple g. Pulchra also. Mine are slings as well but omg compared to a few of my more prey driven species, these little ones seem to always be down for a good hunt and feeding. Lol welcome again!!

Nice to meet you I'm new here too. I literally can't believe it's taken me so long to keep spiders. They're just adorable mine are still little and I love them and I can't wait to see your kids too.
