Local breeder has a vietnam blue tarantula sling, I think i'll be going with this one. I've wanted to get my first old world for quite a long time. Any tips on old world T's are welcomed!

I'm not a keeper of any asian spiders, but there are several folks here who are. Is that the violocipes (sp?)you're referring to?

It'll be a great looking one but might be a borrower.
Still, do take pics when you get it. With any OW, especially your first, have a good system for controlling the tarantula during the unboxing.
I'd suggest doing your enclosure in a large plastic tote in your bathtub with ALL drains blocked off. In the plastic tote, have about an inch of cool water to discourage bolting. Place the enclosure on a block of wood or styrofoam in the middle of the tote that's wider then the enclosure so it's not hiding underneath the enclosure if it runs.
You can also use a large stainless steel pot instead of a plastic tote. I've never had any run out of that system even if they freak out and run around the outside of the enclosure for a minute or so. If they go down, one toe goes into the water and they turn around and go back up.
Have a catch cup or two within easy reach, with lids.

oh im fortunate I have a breeder close by, I just picked her up from them. Cant get a clear picture but dark red, violet, magenta and orange. Nicest looking spider ive ever seen. Rehousing already done, very shy one allowed me to guide her to the new housing tube

Perversely that makes sense, but so does doing transfers in a tote in a bathtub. Layers of defense like a medieval mote.
