I'll be getting my own apartment in the fall and I am hoping to keep a tarantula for the next decade or so.

Grammostola pulchra has piqued my interest.

Does anyone have any extra information they could give me about these spiders?

Thanks.

G. pulchra makes a wonderful first tarantula or great addition to any collection. They are relatively easy to care for and hardy. As sub adults and adults they are stunning after a molt, deep velvety black. Any T in the Grammastola genus will grow slowly, and pulchra is no exception, but they live a long time. They also have a less defensive temperament in general, but each individual varies. I'd say one of the top 3 "pet" spiders.

Thank you! I don't think I'll mind the slow growth rate.. as long as little thing sticks around. Where do I go about obtaining one/what is the price range for 1"-2"?
