May I ask if she was already sexed? or did you sex her yourself? I have a juvenile B.Smithi too, un-sexed at about the same age (maybe a little older) and doesn't seem as big as her. (I had somehow automatically assumed he was a male, and now seeing a size comparison I am thinking that I was right.) :):T:

Can't judge by age: to many variables.
Take three spiderlings, same sack.
One power feeds, keeps temps up, gets good fast growth. (Species dependant of course)
One feeds weekly, keeps average temps. Gets medium 'normal' growth
Last one . No special temps fed when they remember. Every other week - once a month.
Minimal growth.

Very nice looking T!
I have to agree that seems pretty good size for 1.5 years. She looks to be easily 3 times the size of my emilia that is 13-14 months, but she's not exactly a power eater...definitely on her own schedule.

Thanks for saying that ;) I get a kick out of these posts my T is 2 years lol. So you've had it for 2 years but how many years did it take to grow to the size you bought it?

Ts are measured by diagonal leg span (dls) or molts, not years.

When I bought my T online, they told me the rough age (18 months), and the average size it should be on a weekly feeding schedule. There are lots of average sizing guides on the internet, which people can go by and which include age, moults and feeding. It was also just a quick question about the sex of the T, not the age, as I was wondering about how to sex them so young.

Perfectly understandable hun, it just frustrates me that there's so much hype and BS out there and folks are doing their best to do what's right for their arachnids and most of what they read isn't reliable info. Honestly, there's no chart that can tell you what size it should by according to its age. Only there to make you start stressing over those selfsame charts thinking your T is undersized etc.
Your best information is going to be from a reputable breeder, blog or forum. Even those damn care sheets for the most part are a joke. Folks are killing their spiders trying to get humidity up with a ten dollar guage that doesn't ever work correctly.
Unfortunately most (not all) of what you find on the Web isn't very accurate. I divide my time between here and AB. Check a few blogs that give reliable information.
Get the info from folks who have had them for years and know for sure what works and why.

Fair warning. AB can be a little (read lot) abrasive. But there is a wealth of info there.

Out of the two that I picked up the other day, this one is probably close to the smaller of mine in size - except mine is double in age and closer to three years old. Keeping track in years is tricky because of all the factors listed above. You can never be sure of age just by looking at their size.
