Mold in Enclosures

I'm having mold problems in my tarantulas enclosures. I'm using loose coconut fiber substrate. What should I do .

Bout the only thing I end up doing is letting things dry out. Stop the water bowl overflow. Once the unsightly stuff is there it's there. I have had one spood, Megaphobama Robustum, that started molding and he/she dug and upturned the entire enclosure which help reduce visibility of the stuff for minute but it will return as long as it's damp! I don't like coco fiber personally and moved away from it years ago. A re-house is another option. I have done this as well but the mold always seems to move with the spood. Removal with a spoon with what you can get at I do as well. Sometimes with a Cyriopagopous/Melopeus this can quite the task. They can be seriously bold! If it's a smaller spood I would deal with it till time to re-house.

A little mould is harmless. If on the surface scoop it out during maintenance and top up substrate
For prevetion it helps if you move the dish around and let substrate dry out underneath .
Do not overdo the moisture or improve ventilation of the enclosure. Spores are everywhere so at some point it will make appearance its inevitable but its not big deal to control and while bot very eye pleasing its harmless for the tarantula itself but may point out ventilation issues

Do you have cross ventilation in your enclosure? If you have a T that lives in semi arid or arid environments then this is crucial.

If your keeping arid species and you have a mold problem your definitely doing it wrong! Lol!
