Hi all

Came down to find Emberthe b.hamorri dangling from a single claw from the exoterra mesh.
I've released her and she luckily doesn't seem to be the worse for wear, but of course immeditely started climbing again.
Does anyone have a link for someone in the UK who switches out the mesh on exoterra lids?

I bought some plexiglas from eBay, they cut it to size then I drilled some holes and stuck it in with a hot melt glue gun, the seller was marlin-plastics, I sent them a message with the sizes and they did a custom listing for me.

Hi
I change mine myself.
As suggested acrylic sheet cut to size from Ebay.Pick closest size from listing and request cutting it to size.
Sizes.
Exo terra nano tall - 161mm x 169mm
Exo terra 30cm cube - 267mm x 261mm
Exo terra 45x45x30Hcm- 410mm x 416mm
Black silicone and its just rip mesh out and fit the sheet.I use soldering iron for the holes.
Another option is this metal sheet cut to same sizes but works fir dry species only as too many holes.
Use this brand silicone as no additives in it.

Regards Konstantin

Sent bf out into the rain to cut up the acrylic today. Im away next week and was worried she’d get stuck again while I was away.
Mind eased.

The following link is a page advising on how to drill Acrylic & is on a website for a company who sell Acrylic sheets.

https://www.theplasticpeople.co.uk/blog/how-to-drill-acrylic/

Now, there are a few steps you need to take to ensure your acrylic is ready to be drilled. By following this advice, you are less likely to cause damage to or break your acrylic sheet during the drilling process.

Do not use a brand-new drill bit: It may sound slightly counterproductive, but you want to ensure your drill bit has been worn down slightly before use on plastic. You can do this by drilling a few holes into a scrap piece of wood or aluminium. Brand new drill bits are too sharp to cut plastic, and so the teeth may tear at and crack your acrylic.

Once you have decided where to drill on the acrylic, you should mark the area with masking tape, so you do not drill directly onto the plastic. By applying masking tape, you create an extra layer of resistance that will help prevent the drill bit and teeth from tearing at your material.
