Hey there.
I recently pity-bought this T from Petco*, discounted. I think it's either M. Robustum or Brachypelma baumgarte. They didn't have the scientific names labeled at all.. just "fancy tarantula".
Does anyone know any key differences between the two?
Trying to get better pics but this little one likes to be in the burrow.
I felt bad for it, the week before I was picking up some other supplies and I saw this spider hanging upside down from the top of the enclosure and I really couldn't stop thinking about how miserable it must've been.. there was no where for it to burrow. & I'd been wanting a Brachypelma..
*((Please note I don't plan to buy any more T's from Petco, I know that they'll just get more of them. But for 1 spider I can house it better and give it a nice life.. i thought it'd be nice. & this guy was discounted down to $50..i figured why not))
Since being home they made a substantial burrow. Keeps filling the water dish with substrate. Did stick it's butt up in the air defensively upon getting into the new enclosure, but didn't kick any hairs.
