So My Cyriopagopus sp. Hati Hati-Purple ( Earth tiger ) Has made a web she cornered off the bottom of her log attached to the bottom , Than went to the other side and closed her whole self in and then burrowed.. Shes super tucked in it and I'm so worried that it isnt right? i guess...
Where we got her , turned out to be not a good place. So im just worried that something is going to happen to her :(

I sure hope your right! From day one this gal has gave me worry! She just so squenched ( Yes its my word lol dont judge Lol ) burried i was thinking shed molt on top?
Aren't hati hati fossorial to begin with? I hope I'm right too. I'll be a tarantula owner for a full two weeks on Thursday. I'm pretty stressed myself. Owning tarantula has been one of the most rewarding, and stressful things ever. I do enjoy it, but it would be nice if they talked more. All I get out of my best friend is meowing and destruction to my leather couch.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing to worry about. She may molt soon like Tnoob said, but it's also a good thing to keep in mind that you have only owned her roughly for a week :) Tarantulas need some time to get familiar with the new surroundings, and for your new girl that webbed hole is the safest and the most comfortable place at the moment. ;)

Think it like this: What would you do if suddenly thrown in the middle of an old forest at late evening and sun goes down fast - You can see shadows moving around you, and all you can hear is the nature around you and maybe some unfamiliar noises. Would you keep roaming blindly or would you tuck in somewhere you'd feel a bit safer until daylight?
Tarantulas don't see well and you can compare hearing unfamiliar noises to how tarantulas feel even the smallest vibrations with their setae, amplified by their webs. For them the dark night time with very little disturbance around is what the daylight would be for you if in the situation explained above.

Aren't hati hati fossorial to begin with?
Cyriopagopus sp. hati hati are arboreal species with fossorial tendencies.

Can't know everything. I only became aware of this species after a vender for this very spider miss specified the genus for an m balfouri.

My Cyriopagopus sp. hati hati has always been more of a burrower than arboreal although it did web almost all of its previous container. I rarely saw it.

This is a photo of its moult eft on top of the web but no sign of the T but it shows how it chose to live.

I have recently rehoused it into an arboreal container and it has disappeared under the cork bark at the back. I know it has been out and about and has poop all over the glass at the front of the container.

This is where it has made its home

I hope this sets your mind at rest. They may be classed as arboreal but the still like a safe hidey hole. I guess in the wild that safe place would be a hole in the tree where they can web themselves in. .

That is extremely reassuring! She's definitely one of my favorites, Her web on the other side of the tank looks very similar to that just not as much. Thank you so much! Out of my close T friends nobody has as hati hati. I appretiate it!
